Giacomo Conterno “ Monfortino” Barolo Riserva 2014

The Monfortino label was first introduced in 1924 and since 1974 the wine has been produced entirely in the Francia vineyard in Serralunga D'Alba.

Monfortino Riserva is made from the best Nebbiolo grapes from the Francia vineyard, the fermentation takes place in 60 hectolitre oak vats, with long macerations also with submerged cap, the wine is then aged in large Austrian wooden barrels where it ages for about six years before bottling.

It shows a bright garnet red color, the nose describes the Langhe in its most precise nuances, rose hips, violet, cherry, blood orange, the taste is a poem, the tannin and acidity create an impressive tension and the saline presence leads the sip to a unique persistence in its length.
