Tenuta Masseto is one of the excellent estates which successfully carry the Italian Tricolor around the world and is part of the prestigious Ornellaia estate (founded in 1981 by Lodovico Antinori),

the vineyard stands on what was once a coastal marshland which, over the years, has become a fantastic site for the cultivation of vines, thanks to the contribution of marine clay and erosion by the surrounding mountains;

In addition, there is a high presence of blue clay resurfaced on the surface due to earthquakes over the years that give a unique and recognizable aroma.

Masseto Vineyard is divided in three different sub-zones, "Junior, Alto and Centrale", harvested and vinified separately and only afterwards assembled by winemaker Axel Heinz who has the last word in wine production.
